walking, walking, walking and going nowhere

I have been walking, walking, walking and getting nowhere this week.  It is very frustrating for me.  It seems every time I start working out I GAIN….it just doesnt seem fair.  I know it is what needs to be done to be healthy, but (not to over use the word) it is just frustrating….Gonna try and pull myself out of this phunk….

it finally moved

Woo Hoo…the scale and my ticker have finally moved.  I am very ready for the week ahead and looking forward to having a successful week.    I had a good restful Thanksgiving.  I had one plate of food and did allow myself some of my grandmas goodies for desert.  Friday was a new day and I went out to my moms for some football and watched my Aggies win and our head coach resign (YAY..he was not good)….I have had trouble exercising the past couple of days, I had just got used to walking outside again when BAM!! here comes the cold weather.  I don’t want to get sick from walking in the cold.  So I sucked it up tonight and went to the gym.  I am going to get into my walking DVDs again.  I really would like to get Hip Hop Abs…It looks like fun…Well I have rambled enough, got to finish laundry and get ready for the week, but I just wanted to drop in as I have been pretty absent on here this weekend…..Everyone have a good week

Well that does it!

I am never eating anything in front of my coworkers again.  They always have “crap” here anyway.  But this morning I guess I am being sensitive and we had some goodies brought over from yesterdays thanksgiving celebration on campus….so one of my coworkers “saved” some for someone who comes in late because she was “afraid it would all be gone”….i am sure she wasn’t talking about me but at the same time always at the back of my mind…..just part of my fat girl self esteem issues.  So I have made a pact with myself to refer to this blog everytime I think of eating anything….at work….

I’m Baaaaaaaaaaack!!!

Well, I have been down and out for about three days.  I think I slept through them all and after today if I have to watch anymore courtroom tv, I might just lose it.  I was sidelined by a sinus infection that came on suddenly Sunday, but as soon as it hit, I knew I was down.  There was no question in my little punkinhead about calling in sick for two days.  I am giving myself Wednesday to get back to work and will begin my workouts again on Thursday.  I have joined WW again last Saturday to keep me financially accountable as well….sometimes that helps, we will see.  I was supposed to go in for another round of lasik on Friday but have rescheduled due to the sinus infection.  I don’t want to do that in the midst of a sinus infection recovery.  Thanks to all the buddies who came and got me out of “hiding”….I hope everyone has a good week and thank god I didnt get the two week sinus infection that Sharky had….

Thanks Buddies…

I don’t really have anything important to say except thanks to all my buddies who answered the call last week.  Your support gave me the kick in the butt I needed.  I seem to have started on the downward trend again.  At least that is what the scale said this morning.  And wouldn’t you know it as soon as I did that, I hurt my back and now exercise is more difficult.  But I made a decision I am going to fight through it…I am not just going to blow it off because my back aches.  I am on steroids from the doctor and also have some physical therapy exercises…but I continue to walk.  maybe not 4 miles a day…maybe not on a treadmill…but I am walking…I still am battling with the water intake.  So hard to drink water when it is cold outside.  It is so much easier for me in the summer.

I hope all of my buddies have an awesome day and let me know when you need support because I wanna be there for you too!!!!

How life should be

Charles Schultz Philosophy
[]

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the “Peanuts” comic strip. You don’t have to actually answer the questions.. Just read the e-mail straight through, and you’ll get the point.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners.
[]
How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners .

Here’s another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with .

Easier?
The lesson:
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care .
[]
Pass this on to those people who have made a difference in your life.

“Don’t worry about the world coming to an end today. It’s already tomorrow in Australia ” (Charles Schultz)
